About Former Qing dynasty post office
The old building of the Qing Post Office was built in 1884. It was the postal heart of China during the Qing Dynasty. It was once the national postal management center and mail organization center. It is located at the intersection of Saint-Louis Road and Victoria Road (today's Yingkou Road and Jiefang North Road), No. 103-111 Jiefang Road, Heping District, Tianjin. The building was listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Tianjin in June 1997. It was renovated in 2010 and built as the Tianjin Postal Museum on the original site. The building is of brick and wood structure, with the exterior facade made of blue bricks and decorated with exquisite brick carvings, integrating Western classical architectural style and traditional Chinese craftsmanship. On April 12, 2019, it was selected into the "China Industrial Heritage Protection List (Second Batch)".
