About Reflecting water orchid fragrance
The Orchid Fragrance Reflecting Water is one of the forty sceneries of the Old Summer Palace, located on the west side of the tranquil landscape group. This scene was built in the eighth year of Yongzheng reign (1730) and was originally named "Duojiaxuan". It is about 100 meters long from east to west and 160 meters long from north to south, covering an area of about 16,000 square meters. In the third year of Qianlong's reign (1738), it was first called Yingshui Lanxiang. The main hall of this scene is called Duojiaxuan, with seven couplets facing south. There is a plaque inscribed "Duojiaxuan" written by Emperor Yongzheng, and there are "Plowing and Weaving Pictures" and "Silkworm Weaving Pictures" from the Song Dynasty. The inner walls are painted with murals of agricultural tools such as plows and harrows.
