About Jiexiu Shanfang

Jiexiu Shanfang is one of the 40 scenic spots in the Old Summer Palace. It is located in the south of the east coast of Fuhai, overlooking the clear blue lake in front and the beautiful Western Mountains in the distance. It was built in 1731 (the ninth year of Yongzheng reign), covering an area of 12,500 square meters and a construction area of 1,200 square meters. The main building is a main hall with three rooms facing west. Yongzheng Emperor inscribed the plaque "Jiexiu Shanfang", which was later changed to "Yunjin Villa". In 1817 (the 22nd year of Jiaqing), the southern end was rebuilt into the Guanlan Hall, a three-volume, five-bay main hall. Its shape is similar to the Shende Hall. It uses rosewood components inlaid with gold, silver, pearls, jade and other treasures. It houses a Buddhist hall and a throne bed. The three emperors Jiaqing, Daoguang and Xianfeng often lived here.
