About Ge Yun Bell Pavilion
The Geyun Bell is located in Xiangshan Park, No. 40 Maishou Street, Haidian District, Beijing, northeast of the outer wall of Jingyi Garden. It is one of the twenty-eight scenic spots in Jingyi Garden named and inscribed by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. It is one of the eight scenic spots in the outer wall and is located in the northeast of Senyu Wat. Its name comes from the fact that you can listen to the bells of nearby ancient temples such as Wat Pho here. Because the terrain is high when fog rises, the bells sound melodious as if they are coming through the clouds. The scene was burned down by the British and French forces in 1860, and only the pavilion base remained. It was rebuilt according to its original appearance in 1994. It is now an attraction in Xiangshan Park and is one of the viewing spots for viewing the panoramic view of Nanshan’s red leaves.
