About Guanyin Cave

Guanyin Cave is located in Hezhang Peak at the west foot of Meiling in Yandang Mountain. It is the core attraction at the east gate of Yandang Mountain in the Linling Peak Scenic Area. The cave is naturally formed. There is a natural stone pillar hanging down to the ground inside the cave. It was originally named Lingfeng Cave and Luohan Cave. It was first built in 1106 and was renamed Guanyin Cave in the Qing Dynasty. The cave is 113 meters high, 76 meters deep and 14 meters wide. It has a nine-story pavilion built on the rock. 403 stone steps lead to the top hall. Inside are the seated statues of Guanyin Bodhisattva and the Eighteen Arhats. There are three hundred Yingzhen statues on the rock wall. There are three springs on the top of the cave: Xixin, Shuyu, and Shikeu. The crack in the middle forms a "line of sky" landscape.
