About Hai Rui's former residence

Hai Rui's former residence includes the former residence on Hongchenghu Road, Fucheng Street, Qiongshan District, Haikou City, and the ancestral home in Shixia Village, Xinxing Town, Tunchang County. The Qiongshan District Former Residence is a complex of buildings imitating the Ming Dynasty Hainan residential style that was rebuilt in 1997 with funds raised from all walks of life in Qiongshan City. It consists of a front hall, a main hall, a back room and other single buildings, with a total area of 3,300 square meters. In 1998, it was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit in Qiongshan City. In 2002, a square, statues and archway were added, and in 2003, ancillary facilities were improved. The current building complex is managed by the Haikou Municipal Museum and has the functions of traditional culture display and clean government education.
