About Zhang Liangdong
Zhang Liang Cave is located on the bank of the Ying River in the east of Yingbei District, Yuzhou City, Henan Province, inside Yingbin Academy. It is said to be the cave where Zhang Liang, the Marquis of Han Dynasty, studied and sought enlightenment in his early years. There are two theories about the formation of the cave: one says that in the fourth year of Zhengda of Emperor Aizong of Jin Dynasty (1227), the people of Yuzhou dug a hole into the wall to commemorate Zhang Liang; the other says that when Xu Mingshan, the magistrate of Yuzhou, renovated the Laozi Hall, he dug a hole into the bank and named it Zhang Liang Cave. During the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, Liu Guoru, the magistrate of Yuzhou in the Qing Dynasty, added Huang Shigong Cave and Zixian Cave, Zhang Liang's mentor. The three caves were dug side by side on the stone wall facing the Ying River. A 2.
