About ancient ginkgo tree
The ancient ginkgo tree is located in Fuliuyao Village, Xiwangzhuang Town, Zhong District, Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province. It is a thousand-year-old ginkgo tree growing side by side from east to west. Because of the growth of tree tumors called "Liao" between the tree branches and the symbiosis of husband and wife, it has become a rare "husband and wife tree" in the country. The two trees have intertwined roots, and four people need to surround the trunks to view the lush branches and leaves, the dense tree milk, and the different expressions from different angles. It is said that the tree was planted by a monk who resigned from office in the Tang Dynasty. The tree crown covers a wide area, providing a cooling place for villagers in summer, and the fruits are edible in autumn.
