About Top caveman ruins
The Cave Man Site on the Top of the Mountain is a representative site of the Paleolithic Age. National key cultural relics protection unit. The site is located in Longgu Mountain, Zhoukoudian, Beijing. Discovered in 1930, the Cenozoic Research Laboratory of China Geological Survey conducted excavations from 1933 to 1934 under the leadership of Pei Wenzhong. Along with human fossils, stone tools, bone horn tools and pierced ornaments were unearthed. There are only 25 stone tools, including chopping tools and scrapers. The most representative of the bone horn tools is the bone needle, which is the earliest Paleolithic sewing tool discovered in China. The human fossils unearthed represent the original Mongoloid race. The top cave people already had primitive religious beliefs. They consciously buried their dead and sprinkled hematite powder on and around their bodies.
