About Nantian Yizhu
Nantian Yizhu is located in the Tianya Haijiao Scenic Area in Sanya City, Hainan Province. It is a conical boulder about 7 meters high. It is named because it looks like a sail or a philosopher's head. It is also known as the "Wealth Stone". Its landscape was formed by crustal movement and seawater erosion, and was once printed on the back of the fourth set of RMB 2 notes. There are many legends about this stone: one is that it is a fragment of an ancient Tianzhu, which was named after Fan Yunti, the magistrate of Yazhou in the Qing Dynasty, inscribed "One Pillar of the South Sky"; another is that it is a fairy who incarnated as a pilot and was struck by lightning and turned into stone. It is also rumored among the people that it has the power to attract wealth, and a wealthy businessman once came into contact with it and his business was revived.
