About Wang Yaoqing's former residence
Wang Yaoqing's former residence is the former residence of Peking Opera performing artist Wang Yaoqing, including No. 20 Peiying Hutong, Meishi Street, Xicheng District, Beijing, and Qingjiangpu District, Huai'an City. The former residence in Beijing was originally No. 28, Dama Temple. It was a gathering place for opera circles from the 1920s to the 1950s. The south courtyard is now occupied by Wang Fengqing’s descendants, and the wisteria trellis landscape is preserved in the north courtyard. The Huai'an Former Residence was originally located at No. 7 Mars Temple Street. In February 2004, it was moved and rebuilt at the northwest corner of Renmin Primary School. Three rooms were restored according to the original appearance and biographical information was displayed. The renovation project will be completed in 2021 and included in the cultural heritage protection plan.
