About Jade Linglong Pavilion

The Jade Linglong Pavilion is a complex of buildings in the Changchun Garden of the Old Summer Palace in the Qing Dynasty. It is located on a circular island surrounded by lakes to the east of Hanjing Hall, covering an area of 9,000 square meters. The building complex was built in the twelfth year of Qianlong (1747). It is connected to the south bank through a nine-hole curved bridge. The main building is arranged in a north-south direction. There are five palace gates in the Jade Linglong Pavilion. The inner eaves have a painted plaque of "Yu Linglong Pavilion" written by Emperor Qianlong hanging on the inner eaves. There is a nine-hole curved bridge in front of the door. There are seven rooms in the main hall and five buildings in front of it. The plaque "Zhengyi Mingdao" hangs on the inner eaves. The name of the hall comes from Dong Zhongshu's famous saying in the Western Han Dynasty.
