About solemn dharma realm
The Zhuangyan Dharma Realm is a small temple garden located on the east side of the south side of Qichun Garden Zhan Shi Yinglu, No. 28 Qinghua West Road, Haidian District, Beijing. It was built as part of the expansion project of the Old Summer Palace in the early years of Daoguang (1821-1825). The building complex faces water on three sides, forming a peninsula in the east, south and north. It covers an area of 3,200 square meters. The main building consists of a square pavilion-style mountain gate and two five-room palaces. There are also buildings such as Wei Zaotang on the east side, with yellow glazed tile roofs. It was not seriously damaged due to its remote location when the British and French allied forces looted it in 1860. It was still one of the surviving buildings during the Tongzhi period.
