About Bazhu Monument
Bazhu Stele, the full name of Wuzhen Painted Bamboo Stele, is located in the Meihua Temple Historic Area of Wuzhen Memorial Hall, Jiashan County, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province. It is one of two groups of existing stone carving cultural relics in Jiaxing City. The other group is in the collection of Haining Museum. The stele is derived from eight bamboo paintings created by the Yuan Dynasty painter Wu Zhen in his later years. In the second year of Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty (1629), Jiaxing collector Li Rihua collected the ink ink in his family. His disciple Shi Kuikao proposed and asked a famous hand to copy it. The stone was laid out and placed in Meihua Temple. It was taken away by eunuchs in the early Qing Dynasty and later hid in the "Shen family in Luli".
