About Sakura Avenue

Cherry Blossom Avenue is located between the old library and the Biotechnology Building on the Xuanwu Lake Campus of Nanjing Forestry University in Nanjing. It is 215 meters long and was planted in the 1960s. There are more than 100 existing cherry blossom trees, covering Japanese early cherry blossoms, late cherry blossoms, mountain cherry blossoms and other varieties. In the early days, the street trees were planted between early cherry blossoms and albizia julibrissin. In the 1980s, due to the problem of albizia julibrissin pests, they were gradually replaced with cherry blossoms, forming the current coherent landscape. The school carries out rejuvenation and maintenance work on ancient cherry trees that are more than 60 years old, such as tree diagnosis and stem-boring pest control.
