About caoxishui

Caoxi Water is the geographical name at the foot of Shuangfeng Mountain in Qujiang District, Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province. Its spring water is the source of Caoxi Hot Spring and is famous for being rich in radon, metasilicic acid and other minerals. The resort was built based on hot spring resources, with 103 health-preserving hot spring pools and hundreds of wind chimes hanging to create a unique landscape. It is adjacent to attractions such as Nanhua Temple and Danxia Mountain, and provides hot spring villas and specialty catering services. It is about a 2-hour drive from downtown Guangzhou via the Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway. In the second year of Yifeng of the Tang Dynasty (676), Huineng, the Sixth Patriarch of Zen Buddhism, stationed at Baolin Temple in Caoxi (the predecessor of today's Nanhua Temple), where he promoted Buddhism and founded the Nanzong Zen system.
