About Baijiatuan Stone Bridge
Baijiatuan Stone Bridge is located in Baijiatuan Village, Wenquan Town, Haidian District, Beijing. It is a granite bridge built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. It originally spanned a tributary of the Baifu Wengshan River. The bridge body is constructed of strips of stone. There are only four bridge strip stones and step stones left. The remains of the bridge body are basically flush with the ground. It will be listed as a cultural relic census registration project in Haidian District in 2023 and is an ancient site-type cultural relic protection unit. The bridge has attracted widespread attention because Cao Xueqin's former residence in his later years is presumed to be located on the west side of the bridge. According to Dun Min's "Pinghu Zhai Ji Sheng" from the Qing Dynasty, Cao Xueqin moved here in the 23rd year of Qianlong's reign.
