About grand cross
Dashizi (a place name in Guiyang) is located at the intersection of Zhonghua Road and Zhongshan Road in the center of Guiyang. It gradually became the center of the city after the stone city wall was expanded in the early Ming Dynasty. On February 4, 1939, it was bombed by the Japanese army, killing 521 people, injuring 1,526 people, and damaging 1,326 houses. In 1988, an open-air circular pedestrian bridge was built to solve the problem of diversion of people and vehicles. In 1997, it was converted into a closed circular structure with shops and has been in operation for nearly 20 years. The overpass adopts a circular design with an outer diameter of 66 meters and an inner diameter of 60 meters. It is made of silver-gray aluminum alloy and covered with a blue glass shell. The bridge deck has both traffic and commercial functions.
