About qiutangguan
Qiutang Pass (also known as Qiutang Pass) is a pass set up by the military and civilian prefect of Lijiang, Yunnan, in the mountainous area at the junction of Lijiang and Heqing. It is located 25 miles south of the city. It is the gateway of the county. In front of the pass, two mountains confront each other, and the middle road is rugged and difficult to pass. There are guards, and its main function is to control the movement of people. The pass implements a strict access system, and outsiders without the chieftain's approval are prohibited from passing through. Officials appointed by the imperial court to guard Tong'an prefectures must also stay in the province to wait for permission.
