About Dai family courtyard

The Dai Family Courtyard is located on the west side of the south end of Beici Street, Sheqi County. It covers an area of 2,516 square meters, a construction area of 1,800 square meters, and 281 original buildings. It is where Dai Erlu, the founder of Guangsheng Escort Bureau, lives. The courtyard faces the street on both sides and has several small courtyards inside. Most of the buildings maintain the architectural style of the Qing Dynasty and are protected cultural relics in Sheqi County. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, Dai Longbang, a native of Qixian County, Shanxi Province, opened a credit store and opened a horse racing shop. His son Dai Erlu founded the Guangsheng Escort Agency and became the "No. 1 Escort Agency in Central China". Later, the rise of the ticket number led to the decline of the Escort Bureau.
