About Sakura Theater
Sakura Theater (also known as Happy Mahua Sakura Theater) is a public cultural facility located at the intersection of Jinghan Avenue and Jiefang Park Road in Jiang'an District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. It has a total construction area of approximately 680 square meters and was designed by SOM Architectural Design Office of the United States. Its exterior facade uses 25,438 "Sakura Red" metal aluminum plates that are embedded with the glass curtain wall through parametric design to form a pixelated cherry blossom pattern, and is equipped with an interactive light and shadow system. The interior adopts a "black box" art space design with a floor height of 11 meters. The main theater can accommodate more than 300 people. The seats can be retracted and moved, and the stage shape can be changed.
