About Italian Embassy Former Site

The former site of the Italian Embassy is located at No. 1 Taijichang Street, Dongcheng District, Beijing. It was founded in the 27th year of Guangxu's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1901) and is now the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. Only a few buildings such as the original office building, church, and official residence remain at the old site of the Italian Embassy. The former site of the Italian Embassy is an important representative for understanding the development process of modern architecture in Beijing and has high historical value. On October 20, 1995, the main building of the former site of the Italian Embassy was announced by the Beijing Municipal People's Government as one of the fifth batch of municipal cultural relics protection units in Beijing.
