About Jinding Bridge
Jinding Bridge is a white marble three-hole stone bridge built between 2000 and 2001. It is located at the outlet of the east bank of Shichahai, west of Wanning Bridge (Di'anmen Bridge and Houmen Bridge). The bridge was added to the west side of the Wanning Bridge during the renovation period to facilitate north-south traffic on the east coast of Qianhai. Wang Guangtao, then deputy mayor of Beijing, invited Peking University professor Hou Renzhi to name the new bridge. Hou Renzhi suggested naming it "Golden Ingot Bridge" to echo the "Yinding Bridge" on the Shicha Sea. The name of the bridge "Jinding Bridge" was extracted from Hou Renzhi's letter and then enlarged and engraved. Jinding Bridge has now become a node on Beijing's central axis cultural exploration routes such as the "World Heritage Tour".
