About Huangcui Tower
Huancui Tower is located in Shangcheng District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, within the Wushan Scenic Area. It starts from Dajing Lane in the north and goes up and down Wushan Mountain. It is a thousand-year-old stone staircase with 184 steps. This place was originally a shortcut to climb Chenghuang Mountain. In the Southern Song Dynasty, it was named Dayinfang because a Taoist named Xu lived there. In the Ming Dynasty, trees were planted on both sides of the mountain road, forming a landscape of shaded houses and green mountains, so it was renamed Huancui Tower. Huancui Tower is an important node on the tour route from Deoksugung Palace to Huancui Tower. It connects historical streets such as Damalong and Dajing Lane, presenting the Song Dynasty culture and urban life style of Hangzhou.
