About East Cotton Alley
East Mianmian Hutong is an alley located in Andingmen, Dongcheng District, Beijing. East Mianmian Hutong belonged to Jinggongfang in Zhaohui in the Ming Dynasty. It was first called Mianmian Hutong. In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Xianghuang Banner and the old name was used. In 1965, when the place names were rectified, it was renamed Jiaodaokou Nanqitiao. In 1966, it was renamed as Great Leap Forward Road Santiao. In 1979, it was given the current name due to the same name as Xicheng District. The Hutong starts from Jiaodaokou South Street in the east and ends at Nanluogu Lane in the west, with a total length of 448 meters. There are existing architectural remains such as a combination of Chinese and Western arched gates. Hutong No. 15 was originally the residence of General Fengshan of Guangzhou in the late Qing Dynasty.
