About Wen Yiduo's former residence

Wen Yiduo's former residence is located in the northeast corner of the Ocean University of China campus at No. 5 Yushan Road, Shinan District, Qingdao, Shandong Province. The building was built in 1903 and was originally an officer's apartment in the Bismarck Barracks. It has a Southern European architectural style, with a masonry structure, two floors above ground, a basement and an attic, and a sloping roof. It covers an area of 214 square meters and a construction area of 607 square meters. In August 1930, Wen Yiduo applied for a job and came to Qingdao to serve as dean of the College of Liberal Arts and director of the Chinese Department of National Qingdao University. After the summer vacation of 1931, he moved into this building and lived there until he left in the summer of 1932.
