About Lashi Lake Wetland Park
Lashihai Wetland Park is located in Yulong Naxi Autonomous County, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province, 10 kilometers west of Lijiang City, with an altitude of 2,437 meters. "Lashi" is the ancient Naxi translation, "La" refers to the barren dam, and "Shi" means new, collectively called "the new barren dam". This wetland evolved from the intermountain basin formed by the geological movement of Yulong Snow Mountain. From the end of the Pliocene to the beginning of the Pleistocene, the peneplain of the Yulong Snow Mountain was divided into three plateau intermountain basins: Lashiba, Lijiangba, and Qiheba. Among them, Lashiba is the highest basin. Due to the inland geographical characteristics of Yunnan, larger lakes are called "sea", hence the name.
