About Tranquil Heart Studio

Jianxinzhai is the only courtyard scenic spot (garden within a garden) with Jiangnan garden architectural style in Beijing Xiangshan Park. It is located on the west side of the North Gate and adjacent to Spectacle Lake. It was first built in the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty (1522), expanded during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, and renovated during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. It was named after Zhu Xi's saying that "you can tell your heart with your mouth".
