About Dali Catholic Church
Dali Catholic Church is located on Xinmin Road, Dali Ancient Town, Dali City, Yunnan Province. In the first year of Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1874), the French missionary Ronis purchased a property and turned it into a church. In 2002, the church underwent comprehensive renovations again. The Dali Catholic Church is 34 meters long from east to west and 13.2 meters wide from north to south, covering an area of 470 square meters. It consists of three parts: church, living area and school. The main building of the church faces east and west. The wooden frame of the building is a wooden structure system that combines lifting beams and ducts. It is very similar to the hall-style building of Bai folk residences with corridors on both sides and no floor. The church is laid out in the shape of a basilica and is divided into three spaces from north to south with columns. The middle hall is 6.
