About Green Lotus Tower
Lianqing Tower is one of the fifteen cultural relics buildings in the Huangshan Anti-Japanese War Site Group of the Chongqing Anti-Japanese War Sites Museum. It was originally the residence of the US military aid delegation to China during the Anti-Japanese War. The building was built in the 1920s and 1930s in an eclectic style. It has both mountainous features and the architectural characteristics of the official residence of the Republic of China. The lotus pond in front of the building was rebuilt from the crater caused by the Japanese bombing, which is a historical witness of the Chongqing bombing. The building is ventilated and moisture-proof through the air insulation layer between the roof and ceiling and the 30 cm overhead layer under the floor. In 2005, the Lianqing Tower was included in the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
