About Jie Feng Building

Jiefeng Tower, also known as "Pude Altar", is located at No. 80, the upper part of Huangshan, Xinhua Street, Lijiang Ancient City. According to the "Lijiang Prefecture" recorded in the Qianlong period, it was built during the Zhaozong period of the Tang Dynasty. It was originally a place for the people of Lijiangba to worship gods and pray for blessings. In the Ming Dynasty, it was renamed because Chieftain Mu Zeng received imperial officials and celebrities (including Xu Xiake, etc.) here. In 2019, the Lijiang Ancient City Protection Management Bureau completed the renovation and listed it as a cultural courtyard. On June 8, 2020, it was officially opened and listed as the Lijiang National Culture Institute. The building overlooks the panoramic view of the ancient city of Lijiang, the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in the north, and the pastoral villages in the south.
