About kogongfang

Kegongfang is located at No. 40, Lower Section of Huangshan, Gucheng District, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province, adjacent to Sifang Street. It is a local landmark three-story building. The building was first built during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty. It was originally built to commemorate the Yang family's "three civil servants" (brothers Yang Zhaolan, Yang Zhaorong and Yang Shuochen). It reflects the historical background of the prosperity of the imperial examination after Lijiang's "return to local rule". In the past 180 years, Lijiang has produced more than 60 candidates and 7 Jinshi. During the Jiaqing period, the Yang brothers passed the examination, and during the Daoguang period, Yang Shuochen passed the examination again, which led to the initial construction of Kegongfang. It was destroyed by fire on the third day of the first lunar month in 1944.
