About Mu Fu Mansion

Mufu, the full name of Mu's Chieftain's Office, is located at No. 49, Guangyuan Lane, Guanyi Street, Dayan Street, Gucheng District, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province, with an area of 30,666.66 square meters. Mufu was originally the government office of the Mu family, the hereditary chieftain of Lijiang. It was "prepared briefly in the Yuan Dynasty and prospered in the Ming Dynasty". During the Ming Dynasty (1382 ~ 1390), the main building began to be built. In 1998, it was rebuilt and the Ancient City Museum was established in the mansion. Mufu fully reflects the style and temperament of the Central Plains architecture of the Ming Dynasty, while retaining the simple and rough charm of the Central Plains architecture of the Tang and Song Dynasties. The layout of the mansion with crisscrossing ditches and flowing water also witnesses the spirit of the traditional culture of the Naxi people.
