About Spruce Meadow
Yunshanping is an alpine meadow at an altitude of 3,205 meters at the eastern foot of Yulong Snow Mountain in Lijiang, Yunnan. It is called "Youwu Pavilion" in Naxi language and is also known as Jinxiu Valley. It is surrounded by original spruce forests to form a unique ecological landscape and is an important part of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Scenic Area. There is a Yunshanping Cableway here, open from 7:00-18:00, and tickets are included in the scenic spot pass. It carries the cultural legend of the Naxi people who committed suicide for love. It is regarded as the entrance to the mythical "Jade Dragon Third Kingdom" and is said to be the holy place for Naxi young people to commit suicide for their love. The scenic spot integrates plateau meadows, snow-capped mountains, glaciers, and primeval forests.
