About Iwasenji Temple
Yanquan Temple is located at the foot of Fushi Mountain in Jinxing Village, Yiliang County, Kunming City, Yunnan Province. In the early years of the Yuan Dynasty (about 1341), Panlong Patriarch built a nunnery. In the Qing Dynasty, the pavilion and pool landscape system was expanded, continuing the reputation of "Yanquan Jade" as one of the eight scenic spots in Yiliang. There are existing buildings such as the Main Hall and the Zangzhen Pavilion in the temple, as well as cliff stone carvings and a monument to Qian Mu's writing office. In 1939, Qian Mu completed his historical work "National History Outline" here. In 1987, the cliff carvings of the temple were listed as county-level cultural relics protection units. In 1993, they were put under the management of Jinxing Office and the main hall was rebuilt. In 1995, it was approved as a religious activity site and opened to the public.
