About Baoshan Stone Town

Baoshan Stone City is located in Baoshan Township, Yulong Naxi Autonomous County, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province. It is located in the Jinsha River Canyon northeast of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. It covers an area of about 0.5 square kilometers. It is built on a raised natural mushroom-shaped rock. It has built a complete defense system based on the landform characteristics, so it is called Stone City. In Naxi language, it is called "Laboru Panwu", which means "Baoshan White Stone Village". Baoshan Stone City is bounded by the Jinsha River to the east, Yanniuling to the west, Taiziguan to the north, Yanke Ferry to the south, and surrounded by overlapping terraces, forming a dangerous topography of "three mountains as a screen, one facing the river". Stone City is surrounded by cliffs on its south, northwest, and east, and steep slopes plunge directly into the Jinsha River.
