About Xishan Longmen

The Longmen Grottoes are located on the cliff between Luohan Mountain and Guabang Mountain in Xishan Scenic Area, Xishan District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province. They are a group of Taoist grottoes excavated in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Longmen Grottoes, with an altitude of more than 2,300 meters, is about 414 meters higher than the water surface of Dianchi Lake. It starts from the "Bieyou Cave" cave gate on the south side of Sanqing Pavilion in the north to Dadian Pavilion in the south, with a total length of 66.5 meters and a height difference of 7 meters. The whole complex consists of four parts: Phoenix Rock, Ciyun Cave, Yunhua Cave, and Datian Pavilion, as well as connecting stone paths, all of which are carved on native rocks. The stone path is winding and winding, allowing only one person to pass. The cave is full of stone carvings, inscriptions, couplets, statues, etc.
