About Beijing Huguang Guild Hall

Beijing Huguang Guild Hall is located on the south side of the east entrance of Luomashi Street, Xicheng District (southwest of Hufang Bridge). Some of its buildings were originally the former residence of Zhang Juzheng during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, and were later built into the Quanchu Guild Hall. During the Jiaqing period, Liu Quanzhi, a scholar of Tirenge University, and Li Junjian, a Yin of Shuntian Prefecture, founded the Huguang Guild Hall here. The guild hall was originally small in scale. In the 10th year of Daoguang reign (1830), funds were raised for reconstruction, the hall was upgraded, a theater building was built, and corridors were added. In the 29th year of Daoguang (1849), pavilions and pavilions were built, with a total area of about 4,700 square meters. There are Xiangxian Temple, Wenchang Pavilion, Baoshan Hall, Chuwan Hall, etc. in the museum.
