About Wanshan Bridge
Wanshan Bridge is a pontoon bridge located in Fotang Town, Yiwu City, Zhejiang Province, spanning the Yiwu River. It was first built in the 25th to 28th year of Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1760-1763). Due to the shortage of ferries, it was built on the initiative of local gentry and private donations. After 1949, the Yiwu County People's Government allocated funds for its reconstruction many times. In the mid-1960s, due to transportation needs, the pontoon bridge was gradually converted into a stone pier cement bridge. In 2013, in order to cooperate with the tourism development of the ancient town, the private sector launched a reconstruction initiative and raised funds. At the end of 2017, the Xinwanshan Floating Bridge was completed, which is an antique-style steel structure pontoon bridge.
