About Haikou Sichuan Gate
Haikou Chuanzi Gate, formerly known as Duifeng Gate, also known as Baihe Bridge, is located in Zhongtan Village, Haikou Town, Xishan District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province. It was built in the 16th year of Daoguang's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1836) and is a building from the Qing Dynasty. Haikou Sichuan Gate is made of stone. The total length of the gate is about 109 meters, with 20 holes. The bridge deck is 3 meters wide. Each of the 18 piers is 6 meters high and 4 meters wide. The Sichuan Gate is a porous stone arch bridge that combines bridges and gates. It is a model of the combination of traditional ancient bridges and gates. The water from Dianchi Lake flows through the Sichuan Gate into the Mantis River and Pudu River, and finally flows into the Jinsha River. The bridge spans three river channels separated by small islands in the middle of the river.
