About Shizhong Temple
Shizhong Temple is an ancient temple located in Jizu Mountain. It is located at the foot of Xianhe Mountain behind Zhusheng Temple, backed by the Lion Grove Observation Tower and facing Bobu Mountain. It was built in the Tang Dynasty. During the Yongle and Zhengtong years of the Ming Dynasty, the great Shaolin temple monks Liao Tong and Liao Xiao were given the imperial edict to rebuild. Since the Ming and Qing Dynasties, many celebrities have visited and presented plaques and couplets. Historically, it was the main monastery of Zen Buddhism, and later became a Tibetan Buddhist dojo.
