About Animal Sacrifice Pavilion (North)
The Sacrifice Pavilion, also known as the Sacrifice Pavilion, was an accessory building to the royal altars (such as the Temple of Heaven and the Xiannong Altar) during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is a place where animals are slaughtered and processed before sacrifice (called "sacrifice"). It has stone troughs, animal washing pools and other facilities. The architectural forms of the Sacrifice Pavilion are diverse, including different types such as double eaves hanging on the top of the mountain, double eaves resting on the top of the mountain, etc. Among them, the Xiannongtan Sacrifice Pavilion with double eaves hanging on the top of the mountain is called "an isolated example of official architecture in the Ming Dynasty" by ancient architecture experts.
