About Hefei Binhu National Forest Park
Hefei Binhu National Forest Park is located in the southeast of Baohe District, Hefei City, Anhui Province, on the north bank of Chaohu Lake, close to the entrance of Nanfei River and Shiwuli River, and only 5 kilometers away from the core area of Binhu New Area and the Anhui Provincial Government Affairs Center. It covers an area of 1072 hectares, including 799 hectares of forest area and 263 hectares of water area. There are more than 680 kinds of plants in the park, forming a multi-level plant community system, including metasequoia, Davidia involucrata, ginkgo and other national first-level protected plants. The park is China's first national forest park built from ecologically restored plantations that were converted from farmland to forests. In 2002, the park was converted into forests to form 10,000 acres of poplar forest.
