About Cao Wang Temple
Caowang Temple is a cultural relic protection site announced in Jiaxing City in 2010. It is located on the north side of Nanhu Bridge in Yanyu Community, Nanhu Street, Nanhu District, Jiaxing City. The temple was built in memory of Cao Bin, a famous general in the Northern Song Dynasty. His life deeds include the destruction of the Southern Tang Dynasty and the attack on Taiyuan. He was praised by the "History of the Song Dynasty" as "benevolent, forgiving, prudent, able to protect his reputation, and abide by the law. Wei Bin was the best general of the Song Dynasty." Large-scale temple fair activities began to take shape in the Ming Dynasty, and the Jiaxing Prefecture Chronicles of the Qing Dynasty recorded its grand event.
