About Ancient Tree Museum

The Ancient Tree Museum is a museum located in Guanyinshan National Forest Park, Zhangmutou Town, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province. It opened on September 10, 2004. The museum is co-organized by Guanyin Mountain Park and the Guangzhou Institute of Geography of the Guangdong Academy of Sciences. Its main feature is the collection of unearthed ancient trees, with about 60 ancient trees in the collection. The growth period of the ancient trees in the collection extends from the Huangdi period to the late Qing Dynasty. Among them, the treasure of the museum is an ancient tree about 4,500 years ago. The museum studies ancient climate and environmental changes through the analysis of ancient tree rings, and has a themed "Tree Tells History" tour route.
