About Dongguan Museum

Dongguan Museum is a local comprehensive museum and a national second-level museum. The Dongguan Municipal Museum was formerly the Dongguan County Museum Library, which was completed in 1929 and is located in Dongguan People's Park. In 1959, the county committee allocated funds to overhaul the old museum and establish the Dongguan County Museum. In 1994, the new Dongguan Museum was built and opened to the public at Keshubo Plaza, Xinfen Road, Guancheng. The new museum covers an area of 2,700 square meters, with a construction area of 5,800 square meters and an exhibition area of 3,300 square meters. As of 2022, the Dongguan Museum currently has 18,956 pieces (sets) of cultural relics in its collection, including 1,083 pieces (sets) of precious cultural relics. The total number of annual visitors is 133,512, with rich categories and distinctive features.
