About Celebrity Garden
The Celebrity Garden is one of the landmark buildings on the Qingdao campus of Shandong University of Science and Technology. It is equidistant from the "Inspirational Square" to the east and west on both sides of the main teaching building. The park is equipped with bronze statues (cast at 1:1.5 scale of real people) of ten scientists: Aristotle, Archimedes, Kepler, Newton, Watt, Edison, Marie Curie, Einstein, von Neumann and James Watson. Its naming and interpretation come from Yu Chengbao, a doctor of literature. It aims to infect students with the spirit, character, and literacy of famous people of the past, and through the power of role models, students of the University of Science and Technology can cultivate noble moral character, be determined to serve the motherland, have the courage to take on responsibilities, and have the courage to face society and life.
