About Luoyang Folk Museum

Luoyang Folklore Museum, located at No. 433, Xin Street, Zhanghe District, Luoyang City, Henan Province, is a folk custom museum built on the basis of the Luze Guild Hall, an ancient Qing Dynasty building complex. It has three museums under its jurisdiction: Luoyang Plaque Museum, Luoyang Contract Documents Museum, and Luoyang Laozi Memorial Hall. Luze Guild Hall was first built in the ninth year of Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1744), covering an area of 15,750 square meters and an ancient building area of more than 4,100 square meters. It was built by Guluo merchants from Lu'an Prefecture (today's Changzhi City) and Zezhou Prefecture (today's Jincheng City) in Shanxi Province. This ancient building complex embodies the culmination of local architectural art and construction techniques of the Qing Dynasty.
