About Jingyuan
Jingyuan is located at No. 70 Anshan Road, Heping District, Tianjin (formerly Miyajima Road, Japanese Concession Area). It covers an area of about 3,016 square meters and has a construction area of about 1,900 square meters. It was built in 1921 and was originally named Qianyuan. It was originally the residence of Lu Zongyu, the Beiyang Government’s Minister to Japan. From July 1929 to November 1931, the last emperor Puyi lived here with his queen Wanrong and concubine Shu Wenxiu and renamed it "Jingyuan", which means "quietly watch the changes and wait for the opportunity." The building combines Spanish and Japanese eclectic styles. It is now a historical building with a special protection level in Tianjin, a cultural relic protection unit in Tianjin, and a national AAA tourist attraction.
