About Feng Jicai Instiute of Literature and Art

Tianjin University Feng Jicai Institute of Literature and Art is a second-level college under Tianjin University. The writer Feng Jicai serves as its dean. It is located by the Youth Lake of the school. The institute building was designed by Zhou Kai, planned for construction in 2001, and completed in 2005, with a construction area of 6,000 square meters. The main building combines modern aesthetics with the artistic conception of an oriental academy, and contains the Tiaolongmen Local Art Museum and a collection of more than 100,000 books. Under the constraints of the square site, the design combined the site environment and creative concept to divide the land into two wedge-shaped courtyards in the north and south, with the main building of the institute arranged in the middle, with a distant view extending to the lake on the north side.
